Scripts for opposing republican cabinet nominations (week of Jan 27th 2025)

Script for RFK Jr. :

I’m writing as a deeply concerned constituent to urge you to vote NO on the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (RFK Jr.) to lead the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This role demands a leader who relies on evidence-based decision-making, upholds public trust, and prioritizes the health and safety of all Americans. RFK Jr.’s history of promoting conspiracy theories makes him fundamentally unfit for this critical position. RFK Jr. has a long history of spreading dangerous and thoroughly debunked misinformation about vaccines, including the false claim that they cause autism and other health issues. His inflammatory rhetoric has fueled the anti-vaccine movement, directly contributing to vaccine hesitancy and preventable public health crises.

If RFK Jr. were confirmed to head HHS, millions of American lives would be at risk. His policies would jeopardize public health and undermine efforts to protect our communities from preventable diseases and health crises.

I strongly urge you to oppose Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s confirmation as Head of HHS. The health and safety of all Americans depend on leadership that prioritizes facts, science, and public trust–qualities RFK Jr. does not carry.

Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter.

Script for Kash Patel:

I’m writing as a deeply concerned constituent to urge you to oppose any effort to confirm Kash Patel as FBI Director, as his appointment would fundamentally undermine the rule of law and the integrity of our federal institutions.

Patel has made no secret of his intentions. He has openly declared plans to use the FBI to target journalists, government officials, and nonprofit organizations, saying: “We will go out and find the conspirators not just in government, but in the media.”

The FBI needs better, more unbiased moral leadership to restore trust while addressing its past and ongoing failures. Americans deserve that, too. Kash Patel is clearly not the person to do that. Patel plans to transform the FBI into a weapon to use against Donald Trump’s political foes, Democrat and Republican alike. His confirmation would cement the weaponization of our justice system, something no senator—Republican or Democrat—should support.

I strongly urge you to stand up for the rule of law and our democratic institutions by opposing any effort to confirm Kash Patel as FBI Director.
Thank you for your consideration.

Script for Tulsi Gabbard:

I urge you to vote NO on Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination as Director of National Intelligence (DNI). This role requires an unwavering commitment to evidence-based decision-making, national security, and the independence of our intelligence community.

Tulsi Gabbard’s record demonstrates that she is unfit for this critical position, and her confirmation would jeopardize the safety and integrity of our nation. Gabbard has a troubling history of amplifying Russian propaganda and siding with foreign adversaries in ways that undermine U.S. interests.

She has publicly echoed false narratives from Russian state media, such as unsubstantiated claims about U.S.-funded Biolabs in Ukraine—claims used by Russia to justify its invasion. Additionally, Gabbard has met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, a leader responsible for countless human rights atrocities, and refused to condemn him as an enemy of the United States. These actions raise serious questions about her judgment, priorities, and alignment with American values. Her track record shows a pattern of aligning with authoritarian leaders and undermining trust in U.S. institutions.

Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination endangers the intelligence community’s ability to act independently, undermines U.S. credibility, and compromises the safety of Americans.

I strongly urge you to oppose Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination as Director of National Intelligence. The Senate must ensure this role is filled by a leader who prioritizes national security, integrity, and the independence of our intelligence operations.

Thank you for your consideration.
